Hytale Update 2 dropped on January 24, 2026, bringing the first taste of magic to Orbis with the Necromancy Grimoire, a complete mining progression overhaul, and a wave of quality-of-life improvements.

Section titled “Necromancy Grimoire”The first magic item in Hytale drops from the Skeleton Praetorian boss in the Emerald Wilds. Activate it near bone piles to raise up to 5 skeletal minions that fight for you.

Mining Changes

- Pickaxe speed scaling: Higher-tier pickaxes mine faster
- Adamantite requirements: Now needs Thorium or Cobalt pickaxe (was Iron)
