Hytale Teleporter Guide: How to Craft & Use Fast Travel

Teleporters are the backbone of efficient exploration in Hytale. Without them, you risk wasting hours traversing between your base, mining outposts, and distant dungeons.

This guide walks you through the complete tech tree—from upgrading your workbench to locating the elusive Azure Kelp—so you can stop walking and start warping.

  • Workstation: Arcanist’s Workbench (Level 2 upgrade required)
  • Key Biome: Azure Forest
  • Network Limit: Starts at 6 slots; expandable to 12

Phase 1: Unlocking the Arcanist’s Workbench

Section titled “Phase 1: Unlocking the Arcanist’s Workbench”

You cannot craft teleporters on a standard crafting table. You must progress to the Arcanist’s Workbench.

Before you can dabble in magic, your physical tools need an upgrade.

MaterialQuantityWhere to Find
Copper Ingot30Surface deposits & shallow caves
Iron Ingot20Deep caves (look for Hematite)
Linen Scraps20Process Flax at a Loom

Once your station is upgraded, the magical tier unlocks.

  • 10x Thorium Ingot: Found in Zone 2+ caves (requires Iron Pickaxe or better)
  • 30x Linen Scraps: Keep that flax farm running!
  • 20x Essence of Void: Drop from Void enemies or Dungeon chests

A single craft yields two teleporter pads—enough for one complete connection (e.g., Base ↔ Mine).

  • 8x Azure Logs
  • 2x Azure Kelp
  • 10x Stone

The Azure Forest is distinct for its blue-hued vegetation, but the materials can be tricky to spot.

Azure Logs: Chop the tall, blue-tinted trees found throughout the forest.

Azure Kelp (The Tricky Part): This does not grow on land. You must find a pond or lake within the Azure Forest biome. Swim down; the kelp glows faintly, making it easier to spot at night.

  1. Place the pad on flat ground (requires 2×1 vertical clearance)
  2. Press F to interact
  3. Name it immediately with a distinct name (e.g., “Home - Storage”)
  4. Set the target using the dropdown to select the destination
  5. Step in to teleport

Don’t Break the Link

If you break a teleporter to move it, the link is severed. You will need to travel to the other teleporter and re-establish the connection manually.

  • The Hub: Centralize 4-5 teleporters in a “Map Room” at your main base
  • The Deep Dive: Place a teleporter at the deepest point of your mine. When your inventory is full, warp home, dump loot, and warp back instantly
  • Zone Transitions: Mark the borders between zones for quick travel
  • Forgotten Temple: Keep easy access for submitting Memories and claiming rewards

You are initially capped at 6 slots (3 pairs). To expand this to 12, you must engage with the Memory System at the Forgotten Temple.

Generally, no. However, if a mob is pushed directly into the hitbox while the teleporter is active (glowing), some game versions may allow them to pass through. It’s safer to put teleporters behind doors.

Do teleporters work across different zones?

Section titled “Do teleporters work across different zones?”

Yes. You can link a teleporter in the Emerald Wilds (Zone 1) directly to a base in the Howling Sands (Zone 2).

No. You can use teleporters as often as needed, which is helpful when moving large quantities of resources between bases.

The link is severed. You’ll need to travel to the other teleporter and re-establish the connection manually, or link it to a different existing teleporter.
